Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava said that the newly-approved innovations to the ‘Produce in Georgia’ government programme include funding the mountainous regions.
‘The new, micro-funding component includes a little co-sponsorship... Residents of the mountainous regions will be requested to pay less for the co-sponsorship purposes than the residents of the other regions,’ Turnava told reporters.
She also added that the ‘Produce in Georgia’ programme is generally focused on the improvement of the export and increasing the competitiveness of Georgian production.
6,212 projects were supported in 2015 – 2018 as part of the micro and small business support programme. More than 56,9 mln GEL was allocated to co-finance 9,384 beneficiaries.
