As Georgian Economic Minister Natia Turnava says, the Georgian government will elaborate on a specific program to support guides.

She emphasized that guides represent a diverse group of specialists with a considerable contribution to the tourist industry.

''We are in intense communication with them, as the government is working on a specific program to identify and register them,'' Turnava said, adding the government will introduce higher standards and facilitate the guides' employment program.

''The program will provide them with certain alternative opportunities,'' she said, adding the guides will enjoy free visits in museums, protected areas, and different facilities.

The tourism industry will resume functioning in three phases.

The first stage includes the industry to get ready, while local tours will resume starting on June 15.

The government will also specify safe tourist tones such as Tskaltubo, Gudauri, Sairme, Abastumani, Borjomi, and others.

By 2020, the tourism sector will be fully exempt from the obligation to pay property taxes.
