The grain harvesting process is becoming more intense in the Georgian villages located along the Russia-occupied Tskhinvali region.

A company of the Ministry of Agriculture is providing the locals with assistance to harvest the grain.

Georgian Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili and Shida Kartli Governor Giorgi Khojevanishvili visited the Nikozi village community to observe the harvesting process.

"In Kakheti, the process of harvesting grain crops has been over. Currently, intense work is underway in Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, and Samtskhe-Javakheti,'' Georgian Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili said.

In his words, the harvesting process is underway in the vicinity of the Russia-occupied Tskhinvali region, namely, in the village of Zemo Nikozi.

In the Georgian region of Shida Kartli, the government mobilized 63 combines. Thirty-two ones belong to the "Company of Agricultural Logistics and Services" LLC.

Notably, the sown area of wheat is 50 thousand hectares, and barley - 27 thousand hectares nationwide.
