The government of Georgia will provide commercial banks with a long-term resource in the amount of 600 million GEL, - Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia stated when presenting an anti-crisis economic plan.
In his words, the banks will have a cheaper resource of GEL available.
Gakharia says the government will allocate 500 million GEL for supporting the business, and distribute the funds in different target directions.
''The key target group is small and average entrepreneurs,'' he said, adding the government will ensure a 90% guarantee for the loans, and the credit portfolio will become stronger.
''The government will give 30% guarantee to the companies with old credits,'' Gakharia added.
The Georgian government presented an anti-crisis plan today and offered assistance to both natural and legal entities.
The government plans to spend 3,5 billion GEL for crisis management.
