The Adjara government may transfer specific sections of the Black Sea coastline in Batumi city to brand hotels by leasing.
The hotels will be entitled to manage to coastline sections.
Batumi City Hall employees will discuss the issue today.
Batumi Mayor Lasha Komakhidze says the local government decided to ensure the high-level infrastructure at the coastline.
''It does not mean the alienation, and we will protect the populations' interests regarding the availability of the beach. Everybody will be able to enjoy it,'' Komakhidze said, adding that the visual side and functions of the beaches will be strictly controlled.
If the Adjara government approves the initiative, Batumi Tower will be the first hotel that will receive a ten-year right to govern the coastline section.
