Georgia may attract investors during the COVID-19 crisis when almost the whole world experiences a lack of investments.
Statistic expert Soso Archvadze says that Georgia's recognition as 'a green zone' due to active combat with the novel coronavirus and safer conditions of Georgia are the reason for the prognosis.
In Archvadze's words, every new foreign investor's entry causes drastic changes in the investments' structure.
''Earlier, Ireland was leading for the investments in gambling, while the UK is the leader currently. If no sharp change comes from the East shortly, we should not wait for investments from Europe… It less depends on us, but we can maintain comparatively safe condition in the pandemic period, and attract investors as we represent 'a green zone,'' he said.
''We should perceive the money spent in the medical sector as a long-term investment that enables Georgia to become attractive for existing and potential investors,'' Archvadze says.
He says investors can enjoy 'the unlimited' choice.
He also praises Georgia's liberal tax regime that simplifies procedures for embarking on business.
As Georgia's National Statistics Office reports, the share of the three largest investors included 41.6% in 2019. The United Kingdom ranks first with 18.0%, Turkey follows it with 13.4%, while Ireland ranks third with 10.2%.
