According to the latest data, the number of people who are registered in social benefit recipients database and receive a subsistence benefit equals to 938,821, i.e., a total of 308, 972 families.  

As regards those receiving a subsistence benefit specifically, their number is 422,970, a total of 118, 664 families. 

As specialists say, the data show that 1/3 the country's population depend on social programs. 

As a reminder, in the Global Hunger Index, Georgia ranks 39th among 117 countries.
