According to the National Statistics Office, in October 2021, compared to the previous month, the inflation rate in Georgia was 1.3 percent, and the annual inflation rate was 12.8 percent.

As for core inflation, according to the National Statistics Office, this figure was 6.3 percent in October 2021 compared to the same period last year, and the annual core inflation rate without tobacco was at 6.2 percent.

The main impact on the formation of the monthly inflation rate was the change in prices for the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages - prices in the group increased by 3.0 percent, which was reflected in the monthly inflation of 0.96 percentage points.

Prices increased for the following subgroups: vegetables and horticulture (9.0 percent), bread and bakery products (5.5 percent), fish (4.2 percent), milk, cheese and eggs (3.6 percent), sugar, jam, and other sweets (1.2 percent).

At the same time, prices fell for fruits and grapes (-1.1 percent); Clothing and footwear: Prices in the group rose by 9.2 percent, reflecting a 0.29 percentage point rise in monthly inflation. Prices rose for both the footwear (17.8 percent) and clothing (3.7 percent) subgroups.
