Any attempt to stop inflation is void currently, as the inflation level hit about eight percent in April 2020.
Specialists say the price growth on the food has influenced the inflation rate.
Scholar Avto Silagadze says that the demand for food has increased and affected the inflation rate, and it will last until the pandemic is overcome in the country.
''It is clear that we see the price rise, especially on the food… we cannot say the same on transport due to the traffic restrictions,'' he says.
In Silagadze's words, the government subsidies mitigated the price rise. Otherwise, the prices would have been much higher.
As reported by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the inflation level included 0,9% in April 2020, while the annual inflation rate totaled 6,9%.
