International financial institutions are in collaboration to ensure rapid support for Georgia to overcome the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The open letter by the officials of international financial organizations to Georgia and diplomats reads all this, mentioned above, as they address the Georgian government and people.
The letter praises fast and decisive measures taken by the government and the public and private sector, as well as the people of Georgia to prevent the coronavirus spread.
Following the letter, the unprecedented nature of the crisis will require significant investments and financial assistance to cope with future challenges.
Investments should continue in the infrastructure of vital importance, reads the letter, adding the agencies of healthcare, social and economic policy should coordinate.
The financial institutions unified to support Georgia include the following:
- Asian Development Bank
- Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank
- European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
- KfW, a German state-owned development bank, based in Frankfurt
- AFD, French Development Agency
- International Monetary Fund
- World Bank
As the letter reads, many other partners are working on the aid packages for the Georgian people.
