Georgia's town of Khashuri will have a 13-km four-line bypass highway until the end of 2020.

Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia, Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili, and Shida Kartli Governor Giorgi Khojevanishvili visited the area where the work is underway.

The work is underway at the length of 1,9 km, where the 420-meter bridge with the highest piers will also be built.

Gakharia said the road section is a part of the main transit highway of Georgia.

He added it would significantly improve the highway capacity and safety level on the road.

As part of the project, the four-line highway, five tunnels, underground passes, and drainage systems will be installed in total.
