Liquified gas imports increase by 84.2%

As reported by the Union of Oil Importers, the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and aviation oil imports increased in May 2020.

The LPG imports included 3,5 thousand tonnes in Georgia, and the volume exceeds the April rate by 1,6 thousand tonnes or 84.2%, and – 0,9 thousand tonnes or by 29,6% than the 2019 May rate.

The almost entire volume of the gas was imported from Russia.

In January – May 2020, the LPG imports included 17,6 thousand tonnes, exceeding the 2019 same period rate by 50,4% (11,7 thousand tonnes).

A total of 94,9% was imported from Russia in 2019.

The Union of Oil Importers says that no excise rate applied to the imports of 43.1% of total imported LPG volume.
