“We have planned the next year’s budget which will be based on an economic growth forecast of 5%, with this constituting a rather ambitious plan,” declared Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani at today’s extraordinary meeting of the government when presenting the 2020 budget project and pointed out that in view of the challenges with which the region is faced, it is a rather bold statement.
“If we consider regional trends and, in general, global trends, I assure you that when the region has witnessed a 0.1% growth, the statement on 5% growth is immensely ambitious. This year we will have an unprecedented 16 billion GEL budget,” declared Machavariani.
