Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia met with representatives of the Georgian garment industry and discussed the existing challenges.
Representatives of garment manufacturing companies at the meeting talked about systemic problems that interfere with the development of the sector. Despite the existence of professional colleges and training programs garment manufacturing companies suffer from a shortage of professional stuff.
The garment industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the country, employing several thousand people and exporting most of its production. The industry is mainly expanded in regions, which is very important.
