Novel coronavirus to re-arrange transport infrastructure

The improvement of ecology due to the pandemic raised an issue of how we can maintain the condition, to ensure the environment pollution rate not to jump back as it was before the new coronavirus outbreak.

Specialists say the transport policy must change, calling on the government to take active steps to increase the public transport role.

Transport specialist Gela Kvashilava says the walking and biking infrastructure should also be developed with public transport should become of high priority.

''If we do not change our attitude, the environment will be much more polluted, and we will end up with terrible results,'' he says.

''The leaders of many cities think to focus on the public transport movement when the virus is over,'' Gela Kvashilava declares, adding the virus is more aggressive in the highly polluted areas.
