The National Statistics Office of Georgia has published the criminal statistical data of July 2020.

As the office reports, the criminal persecution began for 1,933 people in July, as their number increased by 9.3% compared to July 2019.

The Statistics Office says that 34 out of 1,993 were underage.

The data show that in July 2020, criminal persecution began against 46 persons for crimes against the business or other economic activity.

Thirty face charges with issuing, storing, selling, or transporting excise goods subject to labeling without an excise stamp.

Besides, 13 persons face charges with illegal business activities, and three citizens - with money laundering.

In July 2019, 37 criminal cases were launched for crimes in business or other economic activity, 24% less than in July 2020.

Notably, Georgia is among the top ten (out of 144) countries with a low rate of bribery and corruption in the World Bank ranking.
