The number of Georgia's international visitors has decreased by 16% compared to the data of the first quarter of 2019.

As reported by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, 1.3 million non-resident travelers entered Georgia in the first quarter of 2020.

The number is less by 17.6% than the same rate in 2019.

Most of the travelers (47.8%) that visited Georgia were 31-50 years old. Out of them, the number of international visits hit 1.1 million, decreasing by 16.0%.

Besides, the number of international visitors reached 883.800 in the first quarter of 2020, having decreased by 15.2%.

International visitors carried out 765.300 tourist visits, and the number is less than the 2019 indicator by 13.2%.

A total of 69.1% of international visitors were tourists. 25% of them were on an excursion, while 5.9% were tourists on a trip simultaneously.

Georgia had most visitors, equalling 197.200, from Azerbaijan, that totaled 22.3% of the visitors in general.

The number of Azerbaijani visitors decreased by 7.3% compared to the first quarter of 2019.
