In May of 2021, 15.580 million barrels of crude oil got transported from Turkey through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

According to the Turkish company BOTAŞ, this is 1.374 million barrels, or 8.1% less than in April last year.

In January-May this year, 84.185 million barrels of oil were transported through Turkey through the BTC, which is 10.558 million barrels or 11.14% less than in the same period in 2020.

In the first quarter of 2021, oil transit decreased by BTC. The operating costs of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) major oil export pipeline of Azerbaijan amounted to about $ 41 million, while capital expenditures amounted to about $ 6 million. Operating expenses increased by $ 16 million or 64% on an annual basis, while capital expenditures increased by $ 3 million or two times.

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan transit fee increased by 55 cents. Azerbaijan transits oil through Georgia.

During the quarter of this year, BTC exported about 6.7 million tons (51 million barrels) of crude oil and condensate, loaded in Ceyhan for 70 tankers. The volume of transportation by BTC decreased by 13% compared to the same period last year.
