In April this year, 16.607 million barrels of oil were transported through Turkey via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

In January-April this year, 68.605 million barrels of oil were delivered through Turkey by the BTC pipeline, a drop of 9.184 million barrels or 11.8% from the first four months of 2020.

The BTC pipeline mainly carries oil from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields and condensate from Shah Deniz. Moreover, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.

It is noteworthy that In the first quarter of 2021, the operating costs of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) amounted to about $ 41 million, while capital expenses amounted to $ 6 million. According to the report of BP-Azerbaijan, operating expenses increased by $ 16 million or 64% on an annual basis and capital expenses - by $ 3 million or two times.
