An economic conference ''Georgia and World 2020'' is underway in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia opened the event and stated that Georgia is a small market, but the country aims to become a platform, a hub between large economies in terms of trade, business, and investments.

According to him, free and robust Georgian business is a foundation of the Georgian economy, and its main challenge is to create new jobs.

In his words, Georgia works on signing a whole set of free trade deals.

''Georgia is the only country, having free trade regime with China and the EU and all of its neighbors. We are currently holding negotiations with Israel and India. We will have a strong portfolio of the free trade regime,'' he said.

''Besides, everything linked with the transit, transport, and logistics represents a priority to the Georgian economy,'' Gakharia added.

Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia highlighted that the service field is Georgia's future.

''Service-oriented economy is a future of the country,'' he said, adding that conferences are of the highest importance.

The conference is held under the aegis of the annual edition of The Economist ''The World in 2020'' and Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development for the second time.
