Virtual mobile operators will be allowed into the Georgian mobile communications market in February 2020, and experts say it will cause a decline in prices across the market.

Communication experts say that the admission of virtual mobile operators represents a prerequisite for the increased competition, which will affect the communication cost and quality.

In 2019 the Georgian National Communications Commission ordered Magticom, Silknet, and Veon Georgia to provide the virtual mobile operator access to their networks.

"The markets where virtual operators operate show high growth rates and the variety and availability of mobile services. The National Communications Commission supposes that our society needs innovative, diverse, and affordable services," the commission reports.

It has added that virtual mobile operators function in many European countries.

Notably, virtual mobile operators can start working without any costs.
