According to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, in the region of Kakheti, 186 thousand tons of grapes were processed on Sept 30, with 116 thousand tons being Rkatsiteli, and 61 thousand tons Saperavi.

At this point, the price of Rkatsiteli amounts to 70 tetri, whereas the white grapes’ price fluctuates between 80 tetri to 1 GEL.

This year, around 100 companies are participating in Rtveli, with private companies paying a particular attention to the quality and price of grapes. In the current year, unfavorable climate conditions, namely rainless summer, had a negative effect on grape quality.

This year, 200-250 tons of grapes are planned to be processed in Kakheti region.
