Restrictions on the re-export of vehicles to Armenia will be imposed in spring. Importers have already started optimization.

Zviad Nasareia has been re-exporting vehicles to Armenia for five years. According to him, Armenia has a standard 10% tax on the cars imported from the countries except for the Eurasian Economic Union and CIS.

In several months, Armenia will launch using the tariffs of the Eurasian Economic Union in several months that will define the customs service taxes according to the age and motor capacity of a vehicle.

According to Zviad Nasareia, the tax will be higher than it is at the moment, and the new rule of charge will take effect on April 1.

He says the dealers have no problem with export to Armenia yet, but expenses are to grow so much that all the efforts will be useless.

''I know that I will have to mitigate my activities with 60%,'' importer Nasareia said.

The re-export rate was highest in 2019. As the National Statistics Office of Georgia reported, the re-export rate increased by 68.2% than it was in 2018.

Cars export is the leader in the top ten of the exported items, reaching 18.2% of the entire shipping.
