Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the importance of regional and global transport networks in the face of the pandemic had increased again. According to the Anadolu news agency, the Turkish leader made the announcement at a summit of the Organization of Economic Cooperation in Turkmenistan.
"Our efforts to develop transport infrastructure and revive the modern Silk Road in our region continue. The initiative of the Middle East-West Corridor along the Caspian Sea and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which was implemented with the active participation of Turkey, is the manifestation of our efforts in this direction. The importance of the Zangezur corridor, which will establish a direct road connection between our country and the region, is also clear," Erdogan said.
