With the support of the European Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), forest registration process started in Georgia. In the first stage, four municipalities are selected.

Lagodekhi is the first where the National Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia has started forest registration on more than 21,000 hectares. Forest registration has begun in Akhmeta Municipality and by the end of 2020 Dedoplistskaro and Tetritskaro municipalities will be added to the list.

Young specialists who have gone under special training courses at different universities of Georgia  participated in forest registration process with the help of forestry specialists of the National Forestry Agency.  Fifteen specialists were trained within the project supported by EU and UNDP.
