According to the Minister of Infrastructure, Irakli Karseladze, the decision taken by the EIB will help strengthen the road infrastructure connecting Georgia with neighboring countries. The point is that the European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide a loan of 106.7 million euros to Georgia to reconstruct two international road sections, the 30-kilometer Algeti-Sadakhlo and the 32-kilometer Rustavi-Red Bridge. Georgia is connected to Azerbaijan and Armenia by these highways.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the EIB has so far invested 1 billion euros in the development of Georgia's road infrastructure.
