Official reception was held at Tbilisi International Airport to celebrate Ryanair entering Georgian air market. The event was attended by Akaki Sagirashvili the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Alexandre Ghvtisiashvili the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgi Chogovadze the Head of United Airports of Georgia, Levan Karanadze Director of Civil Aviation, Mariam Kvrivishvili the Head of National Tourism Administration and the management of Tav Georgia.

According to Giorgi Chogovadze the existence of low cost air company in Georgian market will create opportunity for more Georgians to travel in Europe and will bring more tourists to our country.

The Irish air company started Georgian operations in two airports simultaneously. Direct flights Milan-Tbilisi are already being accomplished. Today we will have the first flights to Marcelle and Bologna.

“At this stage Ryanair will accomplish Tbilisi-Milan flights and Kutaisi-Marcelle and Bologna flights. Starting from the spring the flights to Colon will be added”, said Giorgi Chogovadze.

United Airports of Georgia organized symbolic gifts for Milan-Tbilisi flight passengers of both directions. The passengers from Milan will be met by Georgian Folk Singers Group Didgori.

According to the information from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development the negotiations with Ryanair were conducted during several years. As a result of negotiations the flights to Europe will be accomplished by Boeing 737 type aircrafts.
