As the National Statistics Office reports, in the second quarter of 2020, the average monthly nominal wage in Georgia decreased by 2.5% or 29.6 lari compared to the same period last year and totaled 1,150.1 GEL.

In the second quarter of 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, wages decreased in most sectors.

In the reporting period, the following industries observed relatively high salaries:

- Financial and insurance activities - GEL 2,040.9 (-14.7% compared to the same period in 2019)

- Information and communication - 1,932.8 GEL (+ 7.0%)

- Vocational, scientific and technical activities - GEL 1,786.9 (-6.0%)

- Construction - GEL 1,621.4 (-8.5%)

In the second quarter of 2020, the business sector's average salary dropped by 65.5 GEL and equaled 1 175.6 GEL.

In the reporting period, women's average salary was 924.2 GEL, and men's was 1,352.4 GEL.
