The Georgian region of Imereti has launched hosting visitors, Imereti Governor Zviad Shalamberidze told reporters.

Most of the Imereti hotels have resumed functioning.

In Shalamberidze's words, the number of visitors is increasing, though, last year, each of the Sataplia and Prometheus caves hosted about 1,500-2,000 people in 2019.

Yesterday's data equal 100-130 visitors.

Official Shalamberidze believes the number to increase.

''We prepare for different destinations. We have many interesting spots attractive for tourists,'' he said, adding the new location – Vani Museum will open in two weeks, and it will be exciting.

Georgia said it was ready to host domestic tourists on June 15, while the country is waiting for foreign visitors starting July 1.
