SOCAR: Azerbaijan does not give up on Europe's gas supply plan

Despite ongoing military operations to liberate Azerbaijani lands from Armenian occupation, Azerbaijan has not given up on plans to supply natural gas to southern Europe.

Elshad Nasirov, the Vice-president of SOCAR on investments and marketing, made the statement regarding the issue mentioned above.

According to him, in November, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) will be ready to receive 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Shah Deniz gas condensate field located in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea.

"In just two weeks, a new section of the Southern Gas Corridor infrastructure will be ready," Nasirov said.

In mid-October, the President of Azerbaijan said that everything about TAP is going according to schedule and is ready for the gas pipeline.

According to the TAP consortium, the construction of the TAP trans-Adriatic pipeline has been completed. The construction of the pipeline took 4.5 years.

The TAP pipeline, a part of the Southern Gas Corridor project, will supply Europe with 10 billion cubic meters of gas annually in the first phase under the Shah Deniz-2 project. This pipeline runs through Greece, Albania, and the Adriatic Sea to southern Italy.
