The SOCAR Polymer polypropylene plant, located in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, produced 611 tons of HB 2 662 FS polypropylene for the production of medical masks in May 2020, report.az says.
As the SOCAR public relations department reports, the company plans to produce at least 1,500-2,000 tonnes more polypropylene in August.
The volume of production will be identified in detail after market research.
Notably, in May, SOCAR Polymer produced the first pilot batch of propylene homopolymer grade HB 2662 FS.
It represents the leading raw material for the production of protective face masks.
