The first uninterrupted railway movement in Europe began with the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars corridor. The train transports 42 containers loaded with household equipment from China to Prague on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route.
The train, traveling from China will be the first train to cross the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route to Europe through the Marmaray Tunnel in Turkey.
Istanbul will be the midway point of the new rail route where the new train arrival will be celebrated on November 5.
The route runs through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, as well as the Black and Mediterranean ports. These countries are members of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Middle Corridor Association.
The target volume of Trans-Caspian transport corridor is 60,000 TEU (conditional unit), four times more than last year.
