Aiming at the control over the market products, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development opens the Market Supervision Agency. It will monitor the object, the production, the construction, the assembling, the stocking, the transportation, the turnover, the use, and the disposal of which contain the mechanical hazard of destruction, explosion, emission, and intoxication. The Agency will regulate the supervision over the products that are burdened by specific technical regulations. The officers of the Agency will be authorized to charge penalty sanctions of 1000 – 5000 GEL.
The Agency is not to supervise the products, which are subordinate to the Food/Animal Food Safety, Veterinary, and Plant Protection acting Code
The creation of the Market Supervision Agency is considered by a new draft project, according to which the amendments are to be implemented in the Food Safety Code.
The Parliamentary Bureau will review the draft project on December 16.
