Eva Bochorishvili, Head of Research Department at Galt & Taggart evaluates Georgia's foreign trade results. According to the organization research, the exports to the European Union increased most rapidly in August, especially in Bulgaria and Romania. In the Commonwealth of Independent States the 10% increase is observed, while the decline is mainly in Turkey and the US. Exports in the country mainly increase at the expense of re-exports.

As for imports according to Galt & Taggart data, imports have decreased by about 4% in August and 4% in the eight months, driven by a 20% drop in most of the oil products.

According to Eva Bochorishvili the country trade deficiency was reduced by about 14% this year, which is a significant improvement for the country.
