"The economic situation of the country and national interests require the use of the national currency in trade by all citizens. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the name of the state used by the radicals) calls on all compatriots, small traders, and businessmen to refrain from using foreign currency," the statement said.
According to the "Taliban," the use of foreign currency has a negative impact on the economy and all residents of the country.
Persons who use foreign currency will be prosecuted.
On October 6, the Central Bank of Afghanistan issued a decree that all trade operations in the country from now on must be carried out only in the national currency. As mentioned, this measure only applies to currency transactions inside the country and does not affect international trade.
