Vice PM: Consortium is authorized to address court

Georgian Vice PM, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili, says that the Anaklia Development Consortium has no reason to address the court regarding the contract termination by the government, but the consortium has a right to do it.

''The government would not like to engage in any dispute as there is no reason for the dispute, but if the Consortium decides to address the court, the government will engage in the dispute as a party,'' she said.

''As for the port construction, we have always said that the state of Georgia needs the Anaklia deep port. The project belongs to the state and not any of the private investors. The state was an initiator of the project... Therefore, we will launch searching for new partners to implement the project shortly,'' Tskitishvili said.

The government of Georgia launched procedures to terminate the investment contract with the Anaklia Development Consortium.
