In Georgia, the average annual price of one kg of rainbow trout was 9.6 GEL in 2019, while the cost of carp and mirror carp equaled 7.8 GEL, grass carp - 6.3 GEL, white and colorful silver carp - 4.0 GEL, Russian and Siberian sturgeon - 24.9 GEL, and the European catfish - 16.1 GEL, the study by the National Statistics Service of Georgia reads.
Notably, in 2019, fish production increased in Georgian farms.
In 2019, the Kakheti region was the leader in fish production, with a national rate of 35.1% of the fish production.
The Georgian region of Shida Kartli followed Kakheti with 30,3%, while Guria followed the latter with 10.1%.
