The largest share in the total income the Georgian broadcasters received in 2019 belongs TV Imedi - 28%, Rustavi 2 - 24%, TV Formula - 17%, Georgian Public Broadcaster - 7%, TV Pirveli - 4%, Silknet - 3% and Mtavari Arkhi - 3%.
The share of the remaining broadcasters' income was 13% in the total revenue, reads an annual report of the National Communications Commission of Georgia for the year of 2019.
Under the report, in 2019 TV Imedi ranked first in terms of revenue from TV advertising, equalling 39%. It was followed by Rustavi 2 - 32%, TV Pirveli - 6%, Silknet - 4% and Mtavari Arkhi - 4%.
The share of the advertising revenue of the other broadcasters was 15%.
The report says that advertising and sponsorship were the primary sources of income for television broadcasters (63.4% of total revenue).
The primary source of the radio was advertising and sponsorship (99%) with product placement and announcements.
Radio Holding Fortuna ranked first in terms of advertising revenue during the reporting period - 56%, followed by Radio Imedi - 11%, Geo Media - 11%, and Georgian radio - 5%.
The total share of the advertising revenue of the other broadcasters was 23%.
