Kakheti Beekeepers Association complains about unavailability of laboratory. The case is about testing 50 components of honey composition. It was planned to open the Laboratory in early 2015. Beekeepers state that it is the absence of the laboratory that prevents the export of honey.
Beekeepers also are requesting the provision of educational programs. According to them, there is information vacuum in the field that prevents farmers from acquiring modern approaches and technologies.
The Georgian Beekeepers Association told Report.ge that the counterfeiting of honey in the country is still a problem and a major impediment to the advancement of the Georgian honey industry.
