Georgian traditional Churchkhela is meeting all criteria of healthy food. Hence the Georgian traditional product has the potential to become a trendy food product of the world. The statement was made by Andriy Yarmak, FAO representative.
“The need for healthy food in Europe, USA and other countries is on its rise, and the supermarkets are in permanent search for such products. Churchkhela completely corresponds to the healthy food concept. It is an energizing product in its natural form”, told Andriy Yarmak to East Fruit.
He also said that Churchkhela is registered in International Market and if relevantly popularized it will obtain the status of one of the most demanded products.
Based on the experts’ evaluation, Churchkhela will be particularly interesting for the nets of expensive supermarkets.
Andriy Yarmak recommended production of churchkhela with different nuts as the diversification of the product will positively affect the sales.
For the information, based on the notice from the Ministry of Agriculture, “Saqpatent” registered Churchkhela under in protected geographic name in 2011.
