Officers of the Search Division of the Central Criminal Police Department and the Sagarejo District Division of the Kakheti Police Department have arrested a person accused of wounding an individual at Tsitsinatela Park on August 7, 2020, as a result of joint investigative and special operative measures.
According to the agency, A.A., born in 1980, previously convicted, has been wanted since August 2020 for attempted premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances, violence, and unlawful purchase-possession-carrying the firearm.
"A.A. wounded two civilians with a cold weapon on August 7, 2020, on the territory of Tsitsinatela Park. After that, he chased the wounded men's relatives with a car and fired several shots at them on Davit Agmashenebeli Street in Kobuleti, wounding one person. A.A. fled the scene. The police arrested the wanted person on January 6 of this year in the village of Tokhliauri, Sagarejo Municipality. The law enforcers seized: Makarov pistol, "WEİHRAUCH MELLRİCHSTADT" revolver, three muzzleloaders, 47 cartridges, and two knives," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
The offenses carry a prison sentence of 7 to 17 years.
