Nika Gvaramia, the founder and director of Mtavari Channel, responds to the summoning of the respondents by the State Security Service due to the material prepared on COVID-19 and addresses the Public Defender, opposition parties and non-governmental organizations.
"Because of the second story of Mtavari Channel, which covers the situation in Marneuli, the State Security Service of Georgia summoned our ethnically Azerbaijani respondents, because of their interviews.
They launched a case under the article on sabotage over the story on fake statistics of COVID-19. Due to a story about the Narimanov monument, respondents, including Muslim clerics, sat in the State Security Service for weeks. We do not know the development of this particular case yet.

The State Security Service launched an investigation under the article of sabotage due to the report aired on the Mtavari Channel.
As part of the investigation, two people living in Marneuli were called to the State Security Service.
