Another journalist at the Pirveli TV Company Maka Chikladze has received a summon by the State Security Service (SSS), with this statement released by General Producer of the TV Company Nodar Meladze.
Meladze himself was summoned to appear in the SSS, and he plans to go there tomorrow at 11 a.m.
Maka Chikladze is also ready to be questioned in the near future; however, she is unable to appear before the SSS officials tomorrow.
The SSS possibly took interest in Nodar Meladze's Saturday TV show, in which he had the brother of Vasambek Bokov, who was detained over the case of journalist Giorgi Gabunia's possible liquidation, as a respondent.
Vasambek Bokov, a citizen of Russia from Ingushetia allegedly planning to eliminate television presenter Giorgia Gabunia following the order from Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov was apprehended in Tbilisi on 12 June. They watched Gabunia for months, according to Director-General of the Mtavari Arkhi TV Company Nika Gvaramia. He also said that Georgian law enforcement officers were informed of the plotted assassination by the Russian Special Service.
The same day, the SSS confirmed the released information saying that Bekov was questioned on plotting possible elimination; however, they did not mention that this concerned Giorgi Gabunia.
Gvaramia declared that Gabunia's murder was planned by Kadyrov after he made a statement on Russia and its leader at Rustavi 2 TV Company.
This statement was followed by the Chechnyan leader's response warning Gabunia against making baseless accusations. Gabunia' however, said that he was not afraid of Kadyrov and even called him a comical figure.
In July last year, when journalist Gabunia verbally abused the Russian leader, both Kadyrov and a Russian blogger threatened him.
