Anti-Corruption Agency charges four doctors

Officers of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service, as a result of operative-investigative actions, on February 11 of the current year, charged four doctors of a private medical clinic with commercial bribery and forgery of a document.

"The investigation established that the director of the 4th Polyclinic Ltd., the director of the 4th Medical Center Ltd., the doctor of the same medical institution and the doctor of the Family Healer Ltd. in order to postpone the deportation of foreign nationals from Georgia, in exchange for GEL 250 to 500, prepared and confiscated health information by making an unrealistic diagnosis," the statement said.

An investigation is underway into the fact of group bribery and forgery of an official document, which carries a sentence of 4 to 6 years in prison. The investigation is being conducted by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service.
