The General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has charged D.K. with the fact of trafficking of two minors.

"An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has established that D.K. has developed a plan for trafficking in minors to receive benefits. He took over the children, nieces of his wife and exploited them for labor for two years. D.K. forced juveniles to sell small items in various streets of Tbilisi under physical and psychological pressure and threats of physical violence. At the same time, D.K. forced the minors to bring him GEL 40 every day, and in case of non-fulfillment of the request, he physically and psychologically abused them, threatened them with violence, and forced them to continue working. The money collected by the juveniles through the sale of items and begging was appropriated by the accused and used as he wished.

D.K. was charged under Article 143, Part 2, Subparagraph "b," Part 3, Subparagraphs "b," "g" and "e" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 14 to 17 years. The accused was sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of restraint," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

The criminal case is under investigation.
