"With the support and assistance of the United States Embassy in Georgia, the IBM I2 analysis program has been introduced to the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia," Bakur Abuladze, the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Georgia, stated during the presentation of the 2020 report of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia to the Prosecutorial Council.
"Digital Analytics software enables law enforcement to conduct sophisticated investigative analysis, identify needs, facilitate agency cooperation, and manage crime. The IBM I2 program allows users to integrate different formats, bank and telephone communications, and other information into the program. The program analyzes, sorts, structures, and detects data and, through automation, connects two or more networks in a short period of time, visualizes dry data, detects patterned behaviors and latent threats, and tracks criminal activity. It is possible to receive and process data in the system in real-time as well," Abuladze said.
According to him, when having modern challenges, when investigating complex criminal cases, there is the need to find, process, and analyze voluminous electronic information. The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has begun to use artificial intelligence in the investigation process.
"IBM I2 is software for crime prevention and timely investigation. Developed with the support of NATO member states, IBM I2 is actively used in money laundering, cybercrime, fraud and other complex criminal investigations in the United States, Canada and EU Member States," said the First Deputy Prosecutor General.
According to Bakur Abuladze, the software helps prosecutors and investigators make timely investigative or operational decisions and enables them to obtain effective results in a short period.
