Employees of the Shida Kartli Police Division of the Gori Regional Department have reportedly detained famous boxer Giorgi Kandelaki's son known only as T.K. (DOB 1998) for inflicting bodily injuries upon another individual, according to the MIA. Perpetrators of similar offenses are sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison.
"Investigators learned that the defendant physically abused a man known only as E.T. (DOB 2001) after a verbal altercation at the Joseph Restaurant in Gori municipality. Following the incident, the seriously injured man was hospitalized.
The investigation into the case is in progress," The statement by the MIA reads.
One more individual was also injured in the physical altercation in the vicinity of the Joseph Restaurant owned by boxer Giorgi Kandelaki. Around 15 people were reportedly involved in the altercation.
