The defendants in the high-profile murder case in Ambrolauri last year got sentenced by the Kutaisi City Court.
Those arrested for the premeditated murder of 29-year-old Laso Abutidze were found guilty by a court and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
"Evidence presented by the prosecution at the trial confirmed that on August 22, 2020, in the village of Agara, Ambrolauri Municipality, in a drunken state, I.Q. and V.S., deliberately strangled L.A. Meanwhile, V.S. was physically assaulted by M.C., who was trying to oppose those killing L.A. Kutaisi City Court found V.S. and I.Q. fully guilty of the charges and sentenced to 15 years in prison," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
On August 22, 29-year-old Laso Abutidze was killed in the village of Agara, Ambroluri Municipality, who was trying to protect the girls visiting him from drunk people. A 29-year-old man was later found dead near his home.
