"The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia charged I.G. with the fact of the attempted premeditated murder of Leri Sulaberidze and illegal purchase, storage and carrying of a firearm," the Prosecutor's Office reports.
"The investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that on July 28, 2020, in Tbilisi, near the Tskneti Highway, I.G., shot L.S. several times to kill him intentionally. The investigation seized weapon as evidence.
Law enforcers arrested I.G. on July 29, 2020. He got charged under the 3rd and 4th parts of Articles 19,108 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Today, the Prosecutor's Office appeals to the Tbilisi City Court with a motion to detain I.G. as a measure of restraint. The investigation into the criminal case is underway," the statement said.
The crime is punishable by 7 to 15 years in prison.
Leri Sulaberidze's car was shot at on Tskneti road yesterday.
