The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg ordered the Georgian state to pay 193,500 euros for failing to ensure the safety of activists on 17 May 2013.

The information is spread by the head of the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association, Nika Simonishvili.

The historic decision of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of 17 May 2013 was published:

1. LGBTQ activists and members of the community have been subjected to inhumane treatment (Article 3) in connection with discrimination (Article 14);

2. The right to peaceful assembly of LGBTQ people and organizations has been violated (Article 11) in a discriminatory manner (Article 14)
